Remaining cold with rain/sleet/snow at times

For all the snow lovers across Kent you should all be some very happy people with plenty of snow cover right across the county. If your not a fan of snow, today is the ideal day for staying in bed as it's a cold one to start us off with plenty of cloud cover.
The rest of today remains overcast but does look to stay mostly dry without any further snowfall. The East may become an exception to this with scattered snow possible from time to time.
Some brightness possible towards the West of the county later this afternoon with light winds. High's for today, 0°C generally.

This evening and through tonight partly clear skies for a time and light winds will allow ice and fog to form as if being out tonight travelling wouldn't be difficult enough with low's of -3°C. Skies will cloud over as we go through the early morning hours bringing with them some further wintry showers, and more worryingly the chance of some freezing rain across North and North West Kent. Towards the East we may be seeing low's down to -5/-6°C across the snowier areas as the potential for some further snow showers exists around the Eastern/North Eastern coasts.

So Monday and the new working week. After an icy and slippery start which will likely still be causing problems for travel, coupled with further wintry showers of rain/sleet/snow late morning and into the early afternoon. This is expected to fully turn back to snow during the late afternoon causing yet more concerns for travel. High's on Monday 1-2°C.

A dry and mostly clear night should be on the cards but temperatures will fall widely across the county to as low as -6/-8c. No rest from the cold on the cards just yet.

Cold. Snow by Saturday evening

For parts of Kent this morning there is some brightness around, even sunshine for the inland areas and today should remain generally quite bright with some spells of sunshine to be had. Further towards the East Kent coast we're looking at more cloud but overall it should be a dry day with a few light and scattered snow flurries dotted about. Light winds but temperatures will struggle once again with 1-2°C for the maximum today.

The evening and overnight period turns cloudy with some light snow likely towards the East once again but with a breeze from the East these could be pushed a little further inland from the coast. Another cold night with low's of -2/-3°C.

Onto Saturday and this is my focus of attention has been through this week. A cold start to the day and will remain cold through out. Forecast temperatures are not expected to get much above freezing with parts of Kent likely to remain around -1°C at best. Some snow showers are possible during the day across many parts of the county with East Kent the most prone to these, even a slight covering may occur in the heavier showers. Maximum temperatures generally around 0°C.

Now Saturday evening and overnight is where the 'fun' begins.

we have had a warm front carrying plenty of moisture really making a push right across the UK during Saturday so that by the time it reaches Kent in the evening which is already very cold some quiet heavy falls of snow will occur. A weather warning will be issued during Friday for snow once high resolution data becomes further available. I would expect snowfall to begin roughly around 8-9pm and continue during the night. By Sunday morning we can expect around 2-3inches of snow with higher accumulations possible on higher elevations.

Overnight low's remaining around 0°C

As a side note, after a good run of the Kent-Weather chat room a few nights ago, the room will be activated again for Saturday evening during the snow potential. Keep an eye on Twitter/Facebook for the link!
